In a bright and cheerful classroom, there was a group of excited children. They had just been given a special responsibility ¨C to take care of a class pet. The teacher, Mrs. Green, had brought in a small, fluffy rabbit named Mr. Hops.
Mr. Hops was a gentle rabbit with soft white fur and long, twitchy ears. The children loved him instantly. Every day, they took turns feeding him fresh vegetables and cleaning his cozy little cage. They would often sit around and watch as Mr. Hops hopped around, playing with his toys.
One sunny afternoon, while the children were at lunch, Mr. Hops somehow managed to escape his cage. When the class returned, they found the cage door wide open and Mr. Hops nowhere to be seen. Panic filled the room as the children searched high and low, under desks and behind bookshelves.
Sarah, the bravest girl in the class, suggested they split up and look in different parts of the school. So, they fanned out, calling softly for Mr. Hops. Just as they were about to lose hope, Timmy, the smallest boy, spotted a pair of twitching ears peeking out from behind a big potted plant in the hallway.
“Mr. Hops!” Timmy shouted, and the other children rushed over. They carefully coaxed the frightened rabbit out of his hiding place. Mr. Hops seemed a bit scared, but he soon relaxed when he saw his friends.
Back in the classroom, Mrs. Green praised the children for their teamwork. They made sure to fix the cage door more securely this time. From then on, they were even more careful with their beloved class pet.
Mr. Hops continued to bring joy to the classroom, reminding everyone that with love and care, even the smallest pets can become the best friends.
