A Short Story For Kids: Christmas in the Snow

It was Christmas Eve, and the world outside was covered in a blanket of soft, white snow. Timmy, a little boy with twinkling eyes, was excited for Christmas. He loved the snow and couldn’t wait to see what Santa would bring.
Timmy’s family had a tradition. Every Christmas Eve, they would bundle up and go for a walk in the snowy woods near their house. As they walked, Timmy’s dad would tell stories about Christmas elves and magical creatures that lived in the forest.

This year, as they walked, Timmy noticed something unusual. There were tiny footprints in the snow, almost too small to see. “Look, Daddy!” he exclaimed. His dad smiled and said, “Maybe those are the footprints of the Christmas elves getting ready for Santa.”
As they followed the footprints, they came across a little wooden house hidden among the trees. It was tiny, just the right size for an elf. Timmy knocked gently on the door, and to his surprise, it opened. Inside, a tiny elf with a red hat and a big smile greeted them. “Welcome!” the elf said. “I’m Holly, and I need your help.”
Holly explained that she was in charge of making Christmas cookies for all the children in the world, but she had run out of sugar. Without sugar, there would be no cookies for Christmas! Timmy’s eyes widened. He knew he had to help.
He ran back to his house and asked his mom if he could borrow some sugar. She smiled and gave him a big bag. “Be careful,” she said. “And have a wonderful adventure.”
Timmy hurried back to Holly’s house and handed her the sugar. Holly’s face lit up. “Thank you, Timmy! You’ve saved Christmas!” She invited Timmy and his family to stay and watch as she baked the cookies. The tiny kitchen filled with the sweet smell of sugar and cinnamon.
When the cookies were ready, Holly gave Timmy a special one with a blue ribbon. “This is a magic cookie,” she said. “It will bring you joy and happiness all year long.” Timmy took the cookie and thanked Holly with a big hug.
As they walked back home, Timmy felt the magic in the air. He knew he had made a new friend and helped make Christmas special for everyone. That night, as he lay in bed, he could still smell the cookies and hear the laughter of the elves in the forest.
Christmas in the snow had been the most magical night of his life.
