In a small village nestled between the mountains, winter had just begun. The snow was falling gently, covering the ground in a soft white blanket. The village children were excited because it meant they could play in the snow.
Among them was a little girl named Lily. She had been waiting all year for the first snowfall. Her eyes sparkled with joy as she put on her warmest coat, hat, and mittens. With a big smile, she ran outside to join her friends.
The snowfield was like a magical wonderland. Snowflakes danced in the air, and the ground was so soft that every step left a perfect footprint. Lily and her friends built snowmen, threw snowballs, and went sledding down the gentle hill. Their laughter filled the air, making the cold winter day feel warm and cozy.
As they played, Lily noticed a tiny bird shivering near the edge of the snowfield. It looked lost and cold. Without hesitation, Lily took off one of her mittens and gently placed it around the bird. The bird chirped softly, as if thanking her.
Lily’s friends gathered around, and together they decided to build a small igloo for the bird to keep it warm. They worked together, stacking snow bricks carefully. When they finished, they placed the bird inside and watched as it huddled in its new home, looking much happier.
The sun began to set, painting the sky with beautiful colors. The children said goodbye to the bird and promised to check on it tomorrow. As they walked back to their homes, they felt proud of their kindness.
Lily’s heart was full of happiness. She knew that winter was not just about playing in the snow, but also about caring for others, even the smallest of creatures. And as she drifted off to sleep that night, she dreamed of the beautiful snowfield and the new friend she had made.
