Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there was a beautiful kingdom surrounded by tall mountains and deep forests. In this kingdom lived a kind-hearted princess named Lily. Princess Lily was loved by all the people because she was always ready to help others and had a smile that could light up the darkest of days.
One day, a fearsome dragon came to the kingdom. It had scales as hard as stone and eyes that glowed like hot coals. The dragon flew over the castle, breathing fire and causing everyone to hide in fear. The king and queen were very worried and called for the bravest knights in the land to come and defeat the dragon.
Many knights tried to fight the dragon but, none could match its strength. The dragon just laughed at them and flew away, leaving the kingdom in despair. Princess Lily, however, was not afraid. She had a clever idea. She decided to talk to the dragon instead of fighting it.
Early the next morning, Princess Lily set off on her horse, Clover. She rode through the forest until she found the dragon sleeping in a cave. She took a deep breath and walked slowly towards it. The dragon opened its eyes and saw the princess standing there. It roared loudly, but Princess Lily did not run away.
¡°Why are you causing trouble in our kingdom?¡± she asked bravely.
The dragon looked at her in surprise. ¡°No one has ever talked to me like this before,¡± it said. ¡°Everyone runs away or tries to fight me. I am lonely and angry, so I breathe fire to make people notice me.¡±
Princess Lily felt sorry for the dragon. ¡°You don’t have to be angry,¡± she said gently. ¡°Let’s be friends instead. I can bring you food and we can talk and play together.¡±
The dragon thought for a moment and then smiled. ¡°I like that idea,¡± it said. ¡°I would love to have a friend.¡±
From that day on, Princess Lily and the dragon became the best of friends. The dragon no longer breathed fire and caused trouble. Instead, it helped the people of the kingdom by carrying heavy things with its strong wings and keeping the forest safe from harm.
The kingdom was peaceful and happy once again. The king and queen were proud of their daughter’s bravery and kindness. And the dragon, once feared by all, became a beloved part of the kingdom.
And so, Princess Lily and the dragon lived happily ever after, proving that even the fiercest of creatures can be tamed with a little bit of kindness and friendship.
