Once upon a time in a small village, there was a boy named Tom. He was known for his honesty and kindness. One sunny morning, Tom found a shiny gold coin on the ground while he was playing near the river. He looked around but couldn’t see anyone. He thought about keeping the coin, but his heart told him it wasn’t right.
Tom decided to wait by the river, hoping the would owner come back. After a while, an old man came rushing over, looking very worried. “Have you seen a gold coin?” he asked Tom. Tom smiled and handed the coin to the old man. “This must be yours,” he said.
The old man was so grateful. He thanked Tom and told him how important the coin was for buying medicine for his sick wife. Tom felt happy inside, knowing he had done the right thing. From that day on, the old man and Tom became good friends. The villagers also admired Tom even more for his honesty.
In the end, Tom learned that being honest brings more joy than anything else. And the villagers often told the story of the honest boy to their children, reminding them to always tell the truth.
